Evan L McManamy LCSW (he-they) is a clinical social worker in a telehealth practice in Rhode Island. Evan holds advanced graduate training in traumatic stress; he helps his clients develop strategies for working with embodied experiences of trauma and anxiety.
Evan’s approach is strengths-based and collaborative: he works with each client to find evidence-based tools that fit their unique strengths. Evan meets his clients where they are and uses mindfulness techniques to invite them into a deeper level of internal awareness.
The foundation of Evan’s work is connection: we seek connection in relationships with other humans, the natural world and with our own bodies. In practicing connection, we practice the skills necessary to be present with our own pain and discomfort. Through connection we find wholeness within ourselves, generosity in our relationships, and the strength to transform systems of oppression.
Evan is a lifelong Quaker from a coastal town in New England. Intrinsic to Quakerism is the practice of centering meditation; Evan’s work supports us as we center down to feel the movements of our deeper selves.
